The Faculty of Mathematics (the former department of mathematics of  the Graduate University of Chinese Academy of Sciences) of GUCAS, is one of the most active centers of both fundamental and applied research in mathmatical science in China, maintaining the close ties and cooperation with two national academic research center for mathematics and system sciences: the Academy of Mathematics and System of Sciences, CAS and Wuhan Institute of Physics and Mathematics, CAS.

The Faculty of Mathematics is seeking the appointment in Lecturer/ Associate Professor/ Professor Level. Our current research areas include differential geometry, algebra, optimization, partial differential equations, function analysis…….Applicant who can strengthen or complement  these areas of expertise are welcome.  Qualifed applicants should have:

• Ph.D in mathematics
• Proven skills in research and research leadership, strong publication records, and a strong commitmet to the independent research and be able to teach a wide range of courses offered in the Faculty.
• Ability to supervise the research project in the Faculty’s graduate program.

Thousands of People plan:

In order to attract more excellent oversea scholars to join the Graduate University of Chinese Acadmey of Sciences, GUCAS launches the “Thousands of People plan” in 2011, aiming at introducing the high level oversea talents to participate in the academic research and teaching, to enhance the internatioanl cooperation and our research ability. Qualified Applicants are invited for the full-time posts of Professor/ Associate Professor in Mathematical sciences to joint the Faculty of Mathematics. Requirement:

The candidates must receive a doctorate degree in mathematics from the first-rate universities overseas, with more than three years research and academic experiences in foreign institutions. Or the candidates have a doctorate in the domestic universities with more than five years oversea academic research experiences.

A sucessul candidate, generally less than 40 years old, will possess an outstanding record of international research achievements and have the potential to become the academic leader in his/her expertise area.

Special consideration will be applied to the recent oversea Ph.D graduates and talents who have accomplished the significant research achievments.

Salary:

Ranging from 110,000 to 200,000 RMB per year according to your skills and experience. 

Provide 50,000 to 100,000 RMB accommodation allowance to some candidates in demand.
